Introduced in 2023, Spain offers a residence permit for non-EU foreigners’ remote workers and freelancers to live and work in Spain for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the option to renew for up to five years.

Applicants must verify a minimum monthly income of €2,400, with higher thresholds required if accompanied by a partner or children. Remote workers must also demonstrate they have a stable contract, authorization from their employer to work in Spain, and that their company has been in operation for at least one year. Unlike many other Digital Nomad Visas, up to 20% of a freelancer’s income can be sourced from Spanish clients.
