case study
UK Visitor visa for a Syrian national with multiple refusals
Who was the client?
A Syrian national with multiple refusals.
What did we do?
The objective was to help our client overcome his past refusals and obtain a UK visit visa. Our lawyers received financial documents from the client to show his income, but the client had multiple businesses and rental income coming into his bank account. Our lawyers worked through the documentation to be able to give a detailed explanation of our clients financial circumstances
Why was it complex?
Due to the unrest and civil war in Syria, there are high volumes of refugees coming to the UK from Syria, this makes is difficult for other Syrians living in other jurisdictions to genuinely apply for a UK visitor visa. The client has been past refused 2 times and on top of that he has multiple credits of payments being made into his bank account, making it extremely difficult to put a figure on our clients income. The visitor visa application asks for precise figures.
What was the outcome?
Our lawyers annotated our clients bank statements, and prepared a table to show the applicant rental income, income from the businesses corresponding to the bank statement entry. Evidence of property ownership, rental agreements and business ownership was all provided to show where high levels credit entries were coming from. We further argued that it showed that our client was a very successful business person with a comfortable life in the UAE. This meant he has every intention to return to the UAE after his visit in the UK.
The client was granted a 6 month multiple entry visitor visa.
The client was granted a 6 month multiple entry visitor visa.
Key takeaways:
Its is very important to read an check all the documents a client provides you for discrepancies or anything that would need further clarification. If clarification is not provided, the Home Office seldom gives you an opportunity to provide clarification at a later stage.
