Cookie policy

How we use cookies and analytics, and how you can manage your preferences.

Last updated: October 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a similar way. They can be essential for a site to work, or used to remember preferences, measure visits or show advertising.

2. Cookies we use

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies where required for operation, security and remembering your cookie preferences. We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand website usage and successful contact enquiries. Analytics cookies are optional and depend on your consent. Google Tag Manager helps us manage measurement tags; CookieYes provides the consent banner and communicates your preferences through Google Consent Mode.

TypeUsed on this site?Purpose
Strictly necessary and consent preferencesYes, where requiredSupport essential site operation, security and storing your CookieYes consent choices.
AnalyticsOnly with consentGoogle Analytics 4 may use cookies (for example, cookies beginning with _ga) to measure visits and contact form submissions.
Advertising and cross-site trackingNot configured as part of our current website measurement setupWe are not currently using advertising tags for behavioural advertising. We will update this policy and request consent if that changes.

Google Consent Mode adjusts Google measurement based on your choices. Even if you reject analytics cookies, Google may receive limited cookieless measurement signals; rejecting optional cookies does not necessarily stop all network requests to Google. Our website host may also keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and operation. Server logs are not cookies.

3. SRA digital badge

Our footer shows the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s digital badge for QCL Associates LLP. The badge is loaded from a service provided on behalf of the SRA (cdn.yoshki.com), which receives your IP address and browser details when the badge loads and may use cookies or similar technologies of its own. Its use is covered by that provider’s and the SRA’s own policies.

4. Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn and the Solicitors Regulation Authority register. Those sites may set their own cookies, which are covered by their own cookie and privacy policies.

5. Managing cookies

When you first visit, the CookieYes banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies. You can revisit your choices through the cookie settings control on the website, and can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Removing cookies may reset your saved preferences. Guidance is available at ico.org.uk.

Cookie names, providers and lifetimes may change as our website and third-party services are updated. We will review the CookieYes scan and consent behaviour before public launch so the published disclosures remain accurate.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the cookies or measurement services we use change. Where consent is required for optional cookies, we will ask for it before enabling them.
