In January 2023, Spain launched its Digital Nomad Visa to encourage entrepreneurship and foreign investment. This new visa allows non-EU remote workers and freelancers to live and work in Spain for up to 12 months initially, with the possibility of renewing for up to 5 years.

Main Requirements:

• Income: Applicants must demonstrate a minimum income of €2,400 per month (higher thresholds if accompanied by a partner or children).
• Employment Proof: Applicants need to show a stable contract, permission from their company to work remotely from Spain, and that their company has been operational for at least one year.
• Income Source: up to 20% of a freelancer’s income can come from Spanish clients.
